Correlation: relationship between two dependent variables

Correlation coefficient -1 <= r <= +1

perfect correlation r=1.0 or r= -1.0

Linear Regression   y = mx + b

x axis is predictor variable

y axis is the variable being predicted

Curvilinear regression

y = mx^2 + b

Multiple Regression

relationship between many predictor variables and one variable being predicted

y = a + w1*x1 + w2*x2 .....

judgmental weighting vs statistical weighting
